Did Chess.Com just quit working on Kindle Fire?

I requested v3 which worked in a limited way for a day then reverted back to the old version! Working with the old version on the Kindle has always been awkward but the Chess Classic simple app worked well.I'm just about finishing up my outstanding games by iusing my old main computer when I can, but won't be starting any fresh games umtil I can sort something out.

Playng chess on here used to be fun. Now why did it bomb out to the old version?

How many versions work as an app on a Kindle.  Not the one on the browser.  I was using something called ChessClassic.  Is there another app that works on the Kindle besides that one?  Pardon my ignorance about these things.

I think people have mentioned before that the internet browser on the Kindle Fire isn't the greatest user experience - I find the same on the iPhone: playing chess via the Safari browser doesn't work as well as playing through the app. The app doesn't do forums and so on very well, though, and I think it just puts you through to the browser (or that's what it looks like to me, at least).

Thanks for confirming that it is actually working again now. I believe the technical team is working on bringing the V3 look & feel to the Amazon / Android app shortly too, but I don't know if that's going to be called something else while the "Classic" app remains...

The beta app on Android looks just like v3. I had forgotten I was on the beta when I answered earlier.

Well , pleased to say the old Chess Classic now seems to have installed o.k.Will try it out later.Well done Chess.com after all that.

Seems to be working o.k , will give it a good run out.Strangely , the other vetsion with extras from the Amazon app store still gives the same please update message.Guess this one is still work in progress. Can now get back to my games hopefully.

I have got a Kindle Fire and wondered if anyone knows of any chess software that can be downloaded to it, just enough for 2 people to play a straightforward game on the screen. This would be handier than carrying a travel chess set or a laptop with Winboard or something similar on it. 
I find Kindle pretty atrocious for trying to connect to public networks (9 times out of 10 it says "Your connection is not private" and refuses to connect.

It's only main use is for reading downloaded books, but maybe there's a simple chess app it could just about get its head around?

I've had and use a "kindle fire 10" never had a problem . Maybe cause I  don't have an app and don't know I need one!

There doesn't appear to be a chess.com app in the Amazon Fire Appstore at all right now.  Will I need to sideload it?

I'm not positive but I thought it hasn't been available for quite a while now. Some other members have posted they have sideloaded previous versions.

It seems that saying my Kindle is not working doesn't cover all the version that use the ap. . .

You can take your Kindle stoke the screen down and cljck HELP . . .

Go to call me and they will call you immediately  . .

They will have your Kindle version . . . 

Tell them your AP problem and the will tell you if it is good on your version . . .

I log on my KINDLE FIRE 10 BY using the Url then i always leave it on Kindle ap. . . .

I have three KINDLE Versions the two early versions i never hse. . .

But what ever i use it hsually goes to the early versions automatically even my photos or articles . . .

So mention your version yoh are talking about not just Kindle . .
