Yes, I understand that! I just didn't want to make a new topic about it when I saw this one :)

Games restored are restored to the last move made when the game timed out.

I've had some issues the past couple of days but nothing to get in a twitch over. My firefox seems to have some problems but if I can't get on there, I use IE. So, no worries here.

What kind of issues did you have on Firefox specifically?

pradeep2

Hi,

Are there still issues? I only ask as chess.com's DNS failed on me again just now then started working again - Other sites were fine - Chess.com has been working fine all evening prior to this point. Interestingly this was about the same time that it failed last time on 27 August.

I may just send my own thoughts to Network Solutions... Wink

Having DNS issues for the last few days.  Tried the DNSflush, but the problem still comes and goes.  Any suggestions?

kco

How do you do the DNSflush from the Commard Promt? I've tried it but is said: "The requested operation requires elevation."

Traceroute is a command which can show you the path a packet of information takes from your computer to one you specify. It will list all the routers it passes through until it reaches its destination, or fails to and is discarded. In addition to this, it will tell you how long each 'hop' from router to router takes.

In Windows, select Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. This will give you a window like the one below.

Enter the word tracert, followed by a space, then enter

chess.com

So it should look like this

tracert chess.com

then press enter on your keyboard.

Once its done, click in the top left corner then on Edit and Select all.

click top left corner again, Edit then on copy. You can then paste it in this thread, or in an email to me. kohai@chess.com

This is important as other members may be experiencing the same issue. Also please include if this happens all the time, randomly or specific times of day please.

am I in a trouble ?

kohai

no :)

kco

Please do tell me how to do the DNSflush ? and see m post above you.

kohai

thanks all. we've actually been asked for more info by our host.

when you have a service interruption, we need the following:

1. ping www.chess.com

2. ping ns1.zerolag.com

3. traceroute -> 68.71.245.5

4. error code string (something like: 11.5e961645.1291345096.49c86e9)

thank you!

In Windows, select Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. This will give you a window like the one below.

Enter the word ping  followed by a space, then enter

chess.com

So it should look like this

ping chess.com

then press enter on your keyboard.

Then repeat the process in the same window but enter

ping ns1.zerolag.com

Once its done click in the top left corner then on Edit and Select all.

click top left corner again, Edit then on copy. You can then paste it into a message to me please.

Am I in trouble?

howsoft

I just joined (sorry if I shouldn't be posting to an old thread) - but it's 2016 and chess.com appears to be breaking my internet connection! I am connecting via mobile wi-fi on my Blackberry, which may have something to do with it.

howsoft

I should have added - Symptoms: I can happily browse various websites but, after connecting to chess.com, suddenly the connection is lost and I get error messages from the browser talking about the DNS service.

AWARDCHESS

Yes, yesterday, it was happen again and again...
