I am considering playing elsewhere as well over this
Download all games in a PGN

The feature hasn't been available for 2.5 years (based on the posts here). Very unlikely it will come back. It is really easy to grab the files after a play session or once a day even.

I just downloaded my last three games which are not yet downloaded and then saw this discussion at forum, wanted to comment for feed-back.
I used to play on chess24 essentially, but since they don't have a download game permission for free members, I switched to chess.com. Now, I play mainly on chess.com and as a relatively new user with half thousand rapid games, I download my games weekly/monthly and don't have any problem (thanks chess.com).
Game archiving worked previously for most users including myself with get all games and put in a chess DB software method. Next time, clean previously downloaded game database from chess DB software and get all games once more. This puts, unfortunately, unmanageable work load on servers and overloads internet bandwidth, especially for chess.com with it's hundred of thousands subscribers.
The new download system (page by page) forces users to make incremental downloads which protects chess.com workload but which is also good for users who wants to download their games for offline analysis which is not offered by every major chess websites. Another advantage of this new method is to protect previously analyzed games to be overwritten.
Although, I completely understand older members (especially those are also serious chess players) with their huge games in existing archive, I strongly believe that this is just related with a technologic investment versus expenses efficiency related necessity but not a competition driven maneuver or wrong admin policy/preference. There is only one thing to blame here, freebees like myself. If all members would/could shine metallic, chess.com would give it's users, not just their own previous games but all previously played on earth. As the song says, "I can't give you anything but love". So do I and I do.
Greetings all.

From now I will make a habit of downloading my games after every 15 days. And for past games, I will request any premium member to send me if they can.

Switch to v3. I think the new version may have changed the archive limit.

Looks like new chess.com version allows to do that.
I'm premium so maybe not available for non-premium, I don't know.
Do a search with no criteria (just live chess for example), then "more" at the bottom until you get all the games. Then check the selection column, and hit "download pgn".
Looks like it works. Thanks chess.com, really a must-have feature for premium accounts.

This works, but it is kind of a PITA. I have thousands of games.
I would understand if a download-all feature was limited for premium members to maybe once per day, or once per week, or even once per month in order to reduce server overhead. There's no reason anyone would really need to do it more than once in that time frame.
I might suggest the following feature addition for premium members:
1) Download all games limited to once or twice a week or month. Once a user has used this feature, keep the option grayed out until they can do a full dump again. Allowing a user to do it twice gives them so leeway in case they mess up the first time. There really is no reason this needs to be done more often. This dramatically reduces server overhead in the case of users who do dumps every day or every hour after just a few games, which is why they probably disabled the feature.
This is a complete dump, if the user is doing this, then they are probably intending to use this for a local database software. Their local software can do filtering based on wins/player/color.
Name this file as something like "Year-Month-Day-ChessDotCom-Full"
2) Download incremental from most recent download, This may be limited to once a day or once an hour. I believe game numbers are incremental in the database, so all that Chess.Com would need to do is add a database entry for last download time or last downloaded game. Then search on user for any game number over the last downloaded game, and order by ascending on game number.
Name this file as something like "Year-Month-Day-ChessDotCom-Incremental"
3) One the time period has expired to allow a complete download to be done again, allow this as a check-box option.
This could be implemented with just a little bit of code (assuming full download code still exists and just needs to be re-activated and modified) and a couple additional database entries.

Even on v2, the downloads were limited to one page of games at a time (for at least the last 3 years or so at least). v3 allows more, but as you mention, it would take a while to get all games to show in the interface. Also, v3 was a complete rewrite of the v2 code, not a regular update (based on everything I've read on it), so they would need to implement new code to allow something like you suggest.
I know I always have just downloaded all my games as I go along, normally shortly after completing them. Not saying it wouldn't be useful for some people though.

I want to work on something important and to download all games from a user is important for me. I certainly don't want to spend all day trying to download something, that should be in my fingertips. I am considering now also to quit and go elsewhere.. Most dissapointing is taking away download feature from v2 and not having proper one in v3

I was playing many many chessgames, and no way to download them all. Every other chess websites have these feature, and it is required by any chess player online, which is training seriously and want to improve with local chess databases softwares. I will not renew.

You can download 50 at a time, and if you do it periodically, you'll have all your games.

I would like to download all games from a live club match into a simple PGN file but it seems the option is not there. Why is this? Is it because you are not allowed to download games from players who are not necessarily friends. I posted a question to support but have had no reply as yet

You can download games from other players. And there is an option to download all games from live tournaments. Not sure about Arenas or Matches.
I won't switch to premium membership till they give an option to download all games at once. Glad I found out this feature is missing during free trial period
