Drag or Click move

I created a support ticket a few days ago because my settings are set to drag, yet every now and again I will accidentally blunder a piece when I click on the board.

I questioned why this would happen and the response was that regardless of what setting you choose to set it to, it will ALWAYS have both settings active.

Why do we have the option to select the method we want to use if it's actually not making a difference at all?

Could the option in the settings just be removed completely or could it actually be made set it to one piece movement method?

The option in Live is only for the behavior of the pieces and both click move and drag move will still work.

Well aware it does that, makes choosing a setting redundant as both options will work regardless. I want the system to NOT work on click when I set it to drag

I understand what you're asking, but the option can't be removed since there still needs to be something to control the behavior of the pieces when clicked. Maybe it could be named better though.

People have been asking for years for a true option to have only one or the other for moving, so since it hasn't been implemented, my guess is that it isn't something that will be.

Ofcourse they can remove the dropdown option in the settings and leave the functionality in place as the selector is literally a placebo option.

They could, but would have to set the piece behavior the same for everyone. Apparently they have decided it's more beneficial to have those options on the piece behavior on click.

But they wouldn't need to as the behaviour is the same regardless of what you set it to. Literally tested any differences in behaviour based on what setting is selected.
