The process through the app requires manual intervention by staff. It can take a little while to get applied. If you don't see it by tomorrow, you might open a ticket.

doesn't work for me either, when I try to start my "free" trial to see if I would want the full version of the app the next thing that comes up is they want to know how I'm going to pay for my "free" trial. Lol WTF. that gives me a shady view of them from the start, (sorry but just being honest) if there really was a free trial than maybe people like me could see what the whole package was like and maybe like it enough to actually buy it. But when anyone's trying to get me to give them my billing info up front for something that's "Free" well ya won't be getting anything from me with those types of sales tactics.

If the site didn't require a card for the trial, there would be nothing stopping people from creating serial accounts to get lifetime free trials.

Almost all free trials work the same way.

I have the same problem. I’ve provided Apple payment, signed up for free trial but my account hasn’t registered I’ve signed up

As before, it takes manual steps to complete. If you haven't had the premium applied in a few days, open a ticket.

But in a few days, the payment is taken which defeats the object of a free trial. Clever those manual steps.

You shouldn't get charged until after it is applied, though I don't know the specifics on how that works.

Be patient, chess.com will treat you right. I don’t know of any Free Trials in life anymore that don’t ask for billing information up front. If they didn’t everyone would sign up for free trials on an unlimited basis. You don’t truly expect something for nothing do you? Please contact chess.com rather than posting a public complaint. How will you like it when someone posts a negative comment about you without giving you the courtesy of resolving your differences in private?

It’s been around 30 hours and the free trial still hasn’t kicked in. What shall I do?

It's the weekend, so it may be a little while still. You could open a ticket, just in case, since the lead time on those seems to be 7-10 days due to ticket loads.

If you are purchasing through the app, the situation is the same as before; there are manual steps involved with applying app purchases to accounts and ti can take a couple of days.

If you previously had a trial, it could be a whole before you're eligible for one again.

If you mean the Black Friday offer, it's was only released for the website. I believe it's due to the fact an app update would be required to support something like that.
