I tried to contact the site already but have not heard back. Issue is as described in the title, but I can chat normally in Rapid, but also in Daily on my iPhone. I verified in settings that chat is set to "Everyone". I'm using Brave on Windows 11.
There is a bug being experienced by some members in done games. Staff ate aware and looking into it.
Do you have the issue on other browsers?
Thank you for replying Martin. I assumed you meant "some" games". It is happening in both ongoing, and finished ("done") games for me. Just checked Firefox. Issue persists.

Yep same problem here, having issue with Google Chrome browser, and android smart phone app.
Chat is still disabled and no response from chess.com. C'mon guys, you can do better than this.
I've been playing the 'Daily' games here for over 7 years now. Yesterday, ALL my 'Daily' games' chat screen became "disabled"!! This has never happened before! But I'm glad I read this because I thought this was only happening to me!!
And the Setting for my 'Daily' games allows "Everyone" to chat. Yet, every one of my 'Daily' games are "Chat Disabled"!!! I really hope they resolve this issue in their system real soon!!! Because some of my 'Daily' games are with long-time friends with whom I regularly chat with!
