Game Explorer and My Chess Games

I have been looking forward to being able to use Game Explorer to see patterns in my own games. However, the games of mine it lists are a fraction of the number I have played. I thought that the issue was just a delay between when a game finishes and when the Explorer database is updated. However, a couple of my most recent games are in Explorer, and several older games are not.

we will look into this! if you can provide links to a few of the games not included that would help.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We have found the problem and fixed it. Your remaining games should show up within the next 24 hours.

To use this facility (only available to premium members?), you launch Game Explorer from Learn -> Openings. Then you change the Database setting from Master Games to My Chess Games (or Other Players Games and supply their name). Fascinating - I just need to figure out how to derive benefit from it.

@artfizz: You can also get there with My Home -> Explore My Games. It's a nice of way of seeing which openings are successful for you and which need work. With Other Players' Games, you can see how well your opponents do with various openings.

@Chess.com staff: Thanks for the fast fix!

Does Game Explorer have the facility of letting you view just the subset of games between you and one specific opponent?

jay

no, not at this time. :) interesting idea though.

I was hoping to use it as a shortcut for tracking down games with particular opponents, until a method of sorting Recent Games or Current Games comes along.

jay

You should already have that ability. Go to:

http://www.chess.com/echess/my_archive.html

and search for a username there. Should show you all your games against that opponent.

Excellent. Thanks  jay

I am so tempted to pay for the platinum service just so I can view others games in game explorer so I can derive a method to beat them with :) MUahahah! I want to be like all the great grandmasters and pick out the flaws.

With little effort of going through all of the games that is...
