Highlighting in Android

I love playing on chess.com at the gym with my android tablet. As you can imagine, there is a lot of noise so the sounds effects don't really help... thus, you must depend on the highlight function.
Problem is, I can barely see the highlights. Granted, it is much better on the PC... but is there anyway to make the highlights more obvious?
