How do I get a second chance? (Banned account)

A friend of mine got his account banned I won't mention his name, but he wants to get a second chance and is very sorry for what he did and that he will not do it again. WHat should one do to get his account reopened? How does second chance work?

Well, on your question about this forum, in getting his account back:

  • He must go to chess.com support to reopen his account, in by doing so, it will be returned, but some modifications will be added by staff.
  • In opening the support, he might search account closures, and he will find a form about getting the account that he purposely lossed.
  • If you try asking the staff in getting your friend's account back, it might take a day or week to get his account. (PS: My opinion about this, so don't blame me.) Just like the first bullet sentence, the staff will add some modifications and he will have a second chance.
  • PS: If he does his own mischief, his account will be permanently banned by staff.

It says that support email has been closed...

They then send me this which says that it is an appeal, but it's actually the opposite of an appeal... My friend does not want a new account but the account back, because it reminds him of so much...

It depends on the closure reason but some closures are not allowed to reopen and only a second chance account is allowed. Your friend will need to contact Support directly using the option in the menu and if they have completed that they will need to wait for staff to provide options.

It looks like an appeal to me.

You can admit that you have been violating the Fair Play rules and appeal the closing of the account. OR

You can deny that you have been violating the Fair Play rules and ask the Fair Play team to reexamine their conclusion and their decision to close the account.

Well, I presume you get that response after you admitted violating the rules.

It is unfortunate that you broke the rules.

There are consequences to breaking the rules.

But there are people who I know who admitted to having several alts and breaking rules, yet they still were allowed back on chess.com and even allowed to have an alt.

Besides all my did was being in a club where he was inactive but due to a few members being abusive inside of the club he got banned...
