Go to settings and check the "Pause all my games" box, which will do so for 18 days, after which you will have to upgrade to a paying account to get more vacation time. :/
(The settings button is under the chat box in the game view).

I hate to bump an old post, but those instructions don't seem to work for the new chess.com layout. Does anyone know how to go on vacation now?
When you go from your homepage to your online games page, if you look at the menu options on the right side, it will show items like this;
* Home * Current Games
* Start New Game * Games Archive
* Open Seeks * My Stats
* View Players * Settings <-------
* Top Rated Games * Help
You see above where i entered the arrow, click on the settings link on your games page.
If you can't find it, its on this link below
http://www.chess.com/home/echess_settings.html
Scroll down that settings page to where it says
Vacation PAUSE MY GAMES! I'm on vacation: please pause all of my games!
Check/tick mark that box if you "Are" going on vacation
UN check/tick mark that box if you want vacation time 'Removed' from games
It is very Important you remember to save the settings changes by clicking "Save Preferences" at the bottom of that page before closing or leaving that window otherwise any changes you made won't happen.
home --> account --> "online chess settings" --> "PAUSE MY GAMES! I'm on vacation: please pause all of my games"
Don't forget to save.
Should also bee mentioned that this is really needed only for free accounts. Paiing people have anti-timeout feature, wich means that the account will automatically go in vacation if a game have less that 1 hour left.
There is online help/guide to understand how to 'fully' setup/configure the various modes? For example, If let's say I want Vacation mode to follow a different schedule for lights/plugs and not the usual schedule. I may want some lights to act differently when I'm on vacation but not be either on or off. Essentially I would want things on less often and at differing times perhaps then when I'm home.
I want to go on holidays!

Hi all,
I've seen a number of members have 'on vacation' next to their names next to their names and I have some questions about it. How do I set up my account for vacation when I go away? How does this change the settings? Does it pause all my games? I'm a bit anxious about this because when I'm away on holiday I might have a dozen games going and I don't really want to lose them all because I couldn't move!
Thanks anyone who can help.
