How do I play checkers...?

LOL !!
Checkers is played out. It means there are some ways you never lose, at least draw.

To play checkers(draughts) well is more difficult than often believed. I will concede chess is a greater challenge, but draughts is certainly not trivial and a very interesting game that requires concentration and requires looking further, although not broader, than chess.
Marion Tinsley, almost certainly the greatest draughts player of all time said something like that checkers was like looking down a very deep well, while chess was like viewing a broad panorama.
I play both games. Played chess far longer and checkers semi-seriously only for about six years. Despite chess's greater complexity there's a clarity to checkers that leaves the mind feeling "cleaner" imo after a few serious games.
Checkers does lead to more drawn games, but as far as ordinary players are concerned, it can't be considered played out. As in chess, drawn games are not necessarilty boring affairs but often the result of correct attack and defence. The game is more unforgiving than chess. Against a good player , one mistake is as good as losing. Losing a piece is usually a loss and seldom have I seen a "strategic" sacrifice working. A great game and sadly regarded as chess's poor relation.

Have started a new club here and invite anyone interested in Checkers or Draughts to join the club.

...on this website (I think it's called chess.com but I cannot find the "play checkers" feature, it only lets me play chess)?
