How do I resume a game?

I just got disconnected.  When I reconnected the game that i was playing was lost.  How do I resume agame after being disconnected?

Unfortunately it is not possible to resume a game once you have been disconnected during the game in the Live Chess. We are currently working on an adjournment/adjudication system so that you will eventually be able to resume games you are disconnected from.

Did you guys fix it

My apologies gravedigging, but has this ever been resolved? Perhaps a feature to play a game from a pos using a .svn would work?

This is a very old topic. The process that has been in place for over 11 years now is that if you get disconnected for too long, you lose the game either by abandonment or time loss. There is no adjournment system in place.

The disconnect was due to server maintenance on chess.com, which is a rather different situation than a local disconnect. A local disconnect, sure, you lose; but when the host shuts down, it'd be nice to be able to resume the game in a clock time format using a FEN. I can reconstruct it as a daily game with the FEN, but not as a game with a set time limit,

I am also unsure if server side reboots or downtime that cancel a game affect ratings,  but I believe that I saw +0 to both players, so it is clearly handled differently.

I'll look up service feature requests, I suppose. Coding a custom clock for each player and loading a FEN to a timed game should not be terribly complex given that those interfaces already exist in other areas.

The site just aborts all ongoing games during a restart.

I always thought it would be nice if it just stored all games with a ending tag of aborted by server. Game adjournments existed for a short time, I believe, but the vast majority of the games were never resumed, so that was discontinued.

My game got disconnected at a very unfortunate time. I did not abandon the game and hope that is not held against me.
