How many active players are there in each category?

I assume there are not many like me who have missed the number that used to be under ur place global, but personally I liked it. It is the number showing how many players are actively playing, in the picture rapid. Before the update of the stats layout the number was about 3,5 million. This is also the number that is used to calculate what percentile every player are at, in the picture it is 99,9%. One of the many chess goals I like to set is to climb up to certain percentiles, but now I cannot figure out (calculate) what rating I need to get to that percentile. So my question is if we can find that number anywhere or get it back?

If you click Global you can find that information.

No, that is the number if accounts that have at least one game in a specific category not considering being active or not. If u divide ur rank with that number u will see that the number does not correspond to ur percentile.

Percentile isn't rank / total players. Also, the number of players only includes players that have played at least twenty games, rapid in this case, over the last 90 days.

you need to focus on people who are better than you, not on those worse. Much of the people who are below you don´t even care about chess at all.

That is my point. It is the rank u r at amongst active players divided by the total number of active players. If u

Click on the link u entered u will see 2,4 million active players there. As of 1-2 weeks ago u cannot see that number anywhere as far as I am conserned. That is the number I want to know happy.png

That is true, but I find the percentile to be a goal setter just like saying getting 2200 rating in blitz for instance. Knowing how far u r from it would be nice especially considering that u could do that before

The only goal setter is called Nakamura. Besides that nothing is worth, even when society tells you there are valuable things before that. Everything is just an illusion as in life. You are still too young but in the process of growing you will discover that your life is a false story like other human beings. The question here is if you are special. Have you got the necessary to be great? I really hope you get grandness some day. I would be pleased that one of my friends have reached the top. I encourage you to go to places nobody have gone before. Thats the goal and not what is behind.

That number is on the leaderboard page. There are over 13 million players that have played at least 20 rapid games in the last 90 days.

While I have minimal statistics knowledge, I'm pretty sure the percentile calculation is not a simple division of your rank by total players. It is slightly more involved than that.
