I'm going crazy on how to erase my messages. I don't see the delete button. All I see is the Archieve/unarchieve button and I don't know what to do. Pls help!?!

gimmewuchagot

Me too. I don't like seeing those 62 unread messages in the corner.

MonkeyH

I got 99 problems but erasing messages ain't one!

belovski23

It's not really a problem, but wouldn't it be better to delete those old ones rather than being filed up in the archieve?

soupram

HI everyone!

Do you need messages "Archived" or games you done and LOVED? NO. I want them out in my archieve and I want to delete them. My question is HOW?

Send me $250. I'll tell you how.

I have stolen all of the "delete" buttons.

Please see any of the threads below:

amazing how many times the same question gets asked. Imagine how horrible life must be for a chess.com employee, answering the same damn questions all day long from people to lazy to read.

I'm sure it is annoying. But, they may have saved themselves some effort if they would have bothered making an official statement.

Jimmy, Keelof;  I agree with BOTH of you. Let me give them something to chew on.         Your messages are YOURS.  The archives belong to chess.com       They don't touch my homepage, and I don't take out their trash.

Staff members have answered this question in so many different threads. Do you think that they should have blasted an email to all members? Maybe you are right....

I don't think so.  A lot of these members had NO idea of the threads you memtioned.    They need to look at the "most recent posts" column.  When you drive, its called, "tunnel vision".

LadyWolf

Archive all the messages, unarchive them.  This will mark them "read".  Pick which ones you want out of the Inbox and archive them.  You can delete them later when the delete button returns in v3.

                Thank you Naomi.

An email would not have been a bad idea. The software seems to have the ability to allow them to post alerts (such as live broadcasts). Surly something like that could have been added to the messages sub system.

Anyway, after countless threads, it seems most people still don't know 1) this is temporary and 2) the staff have, in a couple of places mentioned it will clear with V3....whenever that finally happens.

I would like to take this opportunity to say I like Chess.com. But this issue of not keeping users properly informed of what is happening with the site seems very unprofessional and I'm certain has/will cost the site some users.
