Sure.
Have each of you partner 1 person, then just send bughouse challenge to someone on other team.

No. you don't need to be premium.
Just add each other as partners, then have one person from group challenge one person from other group.
thanks. we were trying that and getting error messages, we emailed customer support and someone in member support said it wasn't possible to choose an opponent afterward (her message is below) - which is just, wrong, and frustrating lol
thanks for your response though!
"I did double check and was able to choose a partner but it looks like there isn't an option to choose the opponent afterwards! I know, right? So, I'm sending this to the programmers as a future feature adjustment on your behalf!
I am sorry support gave you some wrong info I will take that up with them.
But lets figure out why you are not able to challenge your friends. What kind of error message are you getting? Perhaps if you let me know who you were trying to challenge i could check their settings ot make sure they don't have anything that would block that.
It was a red pop up with a ! that said - i cant remember exactly - something like "can't connect with this player at this time". I was able to pair with Letrutj, and my friends CTPerl and Jtour were able to pair with one another, but when I'd try to pair with CTPerl (or vice versa) we received the error messages.
Your assistance is much appreciated. Also, I think my friend is looking into whether it's possible to set it up by way of forming clubs and having the clubs play one another - any ideas there?
We tried playing today as 4 and it was massive fail. 4 software developers couldn't figure it out for 30 minutes, so not very user friendly if working at all...
I tried to play bughouse today with 3 other friends and we couldn't make it work. None of us have premium memberships. Is it possible for us to play a few rounds of bughouse?
Sure.

How do you partner someone?
Hey guys. Wanted to play with 3 friends today and found a solution. It's a little hacky but it works.
Partner up into 2 pairs, then both pairs search for a game vs a "random opponent" in a specific, custom time control. For example 3 mins 7 secs, or whatever suits your mood. Worked for us today.
That said, chess.com really needs to make it more user friendly.

I will give this a try. Thanks for the advice in this issue.
