Hi,

Is there any option where we can see our opononent while playing through webcam.

Boogalicious

lol

Haalef

that'd be nice actually, most players won't like it and they have good reasons, but if there's an option I think some people would enjoy the game much more like that

But how?? I want to play live so badly

Boogalicious

ya I wanna see my opponent start throwing his computer around when I tilt him.

There is no way u could see someones webcam while playing. That doesn't even make sense to ask.

This isn't a streaming website.

Set up a Zoom meeting whereby you see your opponent and his chessboard (CB) and vice versa.  You will have to announce your moves using algebraic notation and move your pieces and his pieces on your board and vice versa. Pay attention-it's easy to screw up but quickly you will become familiar with algebraic notation if you are not already.

What you need

(1.) Webcam (about $80) with a ten foot extension (cable $6) to plug into your laptop.  (2) Mic stand with round base about $40.  (3) 12" or so gooseneck, about $10 (otherwise mic stand won't extend high enough to look down on your configuration (4) Video Camera/digital recorder adapter (e.g On Stage CM01 $15). (5) one piece of 1/4" or 3/8" plywood about 21"x21" for CB for easy adjustments and changing sides. Set up camera about 6 feet or so away from where you and your CB will be seated.  Set up a Zoom meeting without inviting anyone as you adjust the set up so both you and your CB are visible. Then set up a Zoom Chess meeting. Always verify that the pieces on your board match the pieces on his/her board. Good luck.
