Recently, at the start of every new game the board splits in half and notifies me of the chess com league me and my opponent are in. I tried leaving the league im in but that didn't help. Does anyone know how to turn it off? Thanks!
Settings > Board and Pieces > Pre/Post Game Animation may turn that off.

My understanding is you can immediately start moving and don't have to wait for the animations to complete.
