iMessage App Not Working

I'm trying to start a chess game over iMessage using the Chess app for iMessage.

It tells me:

Need iCloud to Play

Please log in to iCloud to play chess!

I am logged into iCloud so not sure why this is happening. I restarted my phone, no change.

I have iCloud drive enabled but for some reason I still get the error

I have iCloud Drive enabled, but I still get the “please log in to iCloud” error. I can play the game, but only if someone else initiates it.

Make sure under "Settings -> iCloud -> Apps using iCloud" that "Messages" is turned on.

Can someone help me with this issue, I tried all types of stuff but i can't use the iMessages version of chess.com. I reconnected my iCloud to messages, disabled and re-enabled it, redownloaded the app, etc. I don't know what to do. Someone please help me with this issue

I found out how to fix the issue. You need to clear some of your iCloud storage. I did this by deleting a bunch of unnecessary pictures and that did the trick. If it doesn’t work, make sure iCloud Drive is turned on.
