I have never had this happen but I would recommend clicking where it says help on the log in screen.
Invalid Password

There doesn't seem to be an option to click 'help' on the app once the login fails. I've tried changing my password to something else and again, I can login with my computer but the app refuses to let me in.

Hi,
I've just updated my password and now I'm unable to login with my android app. I get 'invalid password'.
I can continue to login via the browser on my computer and can confirm my password is correct by typing it in plain text then copy/paste into the app.
Any ideas?
Kind Regards

You need to log in via a browser first, then it should work on the app for you

I have logged in and out several times through my browser (Chrome) without any problem. I then send, to my phone, the password, copy/paste (eliminate typos), then get 'invalid password'. I also try typing the password in manually.
I have cleared the app cache and saved data. The app is on version 2.0.33.

Ok, I changed my password to something very simple and I can log in. The password I was having difficulty with was ten characters long, using upper and lower case with numbers and special characters (e.g. $£!*).
Why is this a problem for the app but not using a browser on my computer as it doesn't contravene chess.com's password policy?

Well, it's a workaround but doesn't allow me to use my standard password. This should surely be fixed in future updates of the app, assuming it's the app that is at fault.
Any response from a chess.com moderator?

passwords ideally shouldn't use special characters. The only way I can test this is by (with your permission) changing the password myself and then trying to log into the account from my device and via the web so I can see what its doing. You certainly shouldn't be having THIS many problems over a password change.

I disagree. In the interests of online security, a password should be as secure as possible. One way to do this is to replace letters with special characters (e.g. password = P@$$w0rd). I'm not sure why you'd need to change my password to test this. Can you not try the same with your own account to see if the problem can be replicated?
