hmm.... Does your Ipad work fine?
iPad App--can't turn off sound.

Yes, the iPad works like a hot darn otherwise. Do you have an iPad 2 and the app? If 'yes' does it work okay on your machine?

Hi Philippe,
I do some chess.com on the iPad (sans iPad app). I found it best to go to chess.com directly through the Safari browser. To move, one taps the piece (which highlights it's square) and then taps the move-target square. Chess.com moves the piece then.
Dragging does not work--it moves and sometimes re-sizes the whole screen.
I have the google app suite, but find chess.com via it is very ill mannered.
I suggest you do a very quick move in certain of your current games--say, hang a piece--just to test out my iPad suggestion. <smile>
Best,
David

Solution? I suspect so but will report results:
1. Turn sounds off in "Settings" within the Chess.com iPad app: from the opening page tap on "Settings" at the very bottom. Set "Sounds" to off.
2. Next, go to the "Settings" 'app' for the iPad. Tap "Notifications." Select "Chess" (the app icon for Chess.com). Turn off sounds and badges. (I don't have a clue what "Badges" is but I think it may very well be something that will beep on the bedside table at 0230 hours just for great grins. Let me know if _you_ know what "Badges" refers to.)
Bob's your uncle! I suspect, but as noted above, will report at a later date.
Best,
David, aka Hank
I have an iPad 2 and the Chess.com app for iPad. I turned "off" sound in the app settings but the machine still chimes when an opponant moves. I thought I could quash the sound by pushing the iPad's off button. No dice. When an opponant moves with the machine off, the move turns it on and chimes.
The app works just fine on my iPod--sound is off and stays off. Sadly, I had to take the iPad app off--playing folks on the other side of the world chimes at our beside dring the night and my wife is thusly made unhappy. Can't have that, of course.
Is the app broken in this regard? Is there a fix?
Best,
Hank
