iPhone Mobile App Login - Too many failed login attempts (BUG)

Seems multiple users are experiencing this. Glad I'm not alone.
To be more technically clear, the app was *not* running in the background and had not been for any significant time. I had not opened/run the app at all for more than 7 days before this incident. I do have auto login on the mobile app, so when I opened it up for the first time in a while it immediately logged me out. Then, the first attempt logging back in prompted the popup etc.

I have the same problem. Cannot login from my iPad, but login fro Android phone works as well as web.
Adding: Before I realised that I had to login I noticed that the active games were listed but were not updated. So, it seamed that I was automatically logged out.

Hello,
Version information: Version 4.2.0 of the Chess.com app on iOS 16.5.1(c)
I cannot log into my account on the mobile app. The very first attempt I got a message popup "Couldn't Log In. Too many failed login attempts. Please try again later."
I of course uninstalled/ reinstalled the app. I also checked that I could login online on a web browser (I can). I tried with a VPN. I tried restarting my phone. I updated my password on the web browser. I logged out of all connected devices. I have no connected social accounts.
Curiously, this message happens when I simply type a single character into the respective username and password fields as well (so obviously not my own credentials, just some characters). I did this to test whether it was my account or an app bug, and I think it's the later, because I got the login attempt popup and not an incorrect username or password message.
Please help!
Thank you
