You should be able to click the board editor icon(the search/magnifying glass icon) from the actual post (not when editing it) . Then, choose the Game Editor tab and Copy PGN.
Then, when you create the new diagram you will use the from PGN option.

Another way to do it is to click on the arrow inside a rectangle, get pgn/fen and then copy it.

Yeah, that is probably a faster way 
The problem with Martin's method is that my inline comments that were added are not preserved.
The checkbox icon does keep comments. THANKS

Weird. I tested on a game snippet I had in a blog and the comment was in the PGN there.

Let's say I posted and annotated a game buried in a running thread I have of all my games.
But, now I want to repost that game in a different thread, b/c I have a specific question. Or I want to post it under showcase.
Is there a way to paste that game, along with annotations I typed in? You can't just edit/copy/paste since the "game" is not text, but that chessboard placeholder icon.
