The executable was corrupt? Go directly to the java site and make sure it's the right file.
If it runs, but fails to install/update, I'd uninstall java completely, then try to put on the latest version. (I've had to do this before).
If it's incompatible with your system for whatever reason, you can opt for an older version of java.
When I click finish game vs computer it says that I need java for board to appear in the new window, and it gives me a link of Java installer, however, when I download the link given by chess.com I can't set up it and always says that the file was corrupt. What was the problem?
