Matchup system not working properly

Has anyone else been having problems getting even matchups today? I have my custom game settings set so that I play people who are 100 points above or below my level (1107), but today I was matched up against a 463, a 1307, then a 1400. Has anyone else had this problem, or am I just doing something wrong?

What happens is if they can't find you a match quickly, the search parameters get gradually expanded until they can.  They used to explain that in the help section but it's gone...

I think they have changed the settings, as the same has happened to me over the last couple of days. Quite frustrating as I can't practice unrated games against people in my rating range. 

If you're on the Play interface, use the settings icon next to the board, and verify what the settings actually are. There's been some disconnects between what's there and what shows on the main settings page.

I know that you're trying to be helpful Martin, but I don't fully understand the instructions you gave.

I'm having the same problem that started two days ago. MickMaster14 or his02cot, did you try using the "Live Chess"?. It appears to work normally in Live Chess but not on regular Play mode.

Play > (by the board) > Play (tab) and verify your Outgoing settings

That's what a default click on Play should look at.

I think that Play, for some reason, isn't looking at the Live settings within the main site settings pages.

Ojay. Does this also work with unrated games?

hmm is that for phones/ipads? i tried altering all my settings including outgoing, but still have same issue on a desktop

Yeah, those should be the defaults, unless you change them by using a Custom Game and change the ranges
