I'm not sure about chat, but I was talking about messages. Perhaps chat has the same problem too.
Some of my friends who use iPads have the same issue.
Are you using an iPad or PC?

I use both a phone an pc but it only does it on Chrome on the pc so maybe it has to do with my version of windows or chrome

Only happens on chat with me and it's really annoying. Can't chat with anyone unless it's via messages
That’s strange. I only thought the issue occurred on iPads.
I’ve never use chats, so I’m not sure if I have the same problem there.

It happens on Mozilla Firefox too. I use Mozilla Firefox on Linux Mint, so i think its got nothing to do with windows as well.

Hmmm, it works on Mozilla Firefox for me, just not Chrome. This is weird!
Im having somewhat the same issue I cant scroll up on my chat and this is only happening recently idk if It is the device I am using (Chromebook) but it seems to be just Chess.com
happening on my MacBook and iPhone also. Messages, mainly.

I have the same thing! But only on iphone with only the same person!
But in ipad and mac it's ok, even with the same person

u cant check messages on a phone without it scrolling up it only does that for long conversations tho idk why

maybe if u keep short conversations on ur phone it won't do that? im on a laptop now and it doesn't do that on here.

Me too on Edge mobile. And just tried Safari, Chrome, DuckDuckGo, and not working on any of them! How can this not be fixed by now? Making the site worse with millions of development dollars. Hmpff
