New games on Android

Hello,

  I just recently started using the Android app.

  One odd thing is that when I want to start a new Online Chess game, I cannot find anywhere to set the ratings range. Then, when I click OK to start the game, I get a message saying I have to select a range that includes my own rating.

 How can I set the rating ranges for Online Chess games?

Go to Daily Chess, click on New Game, and a menu will open to the right of the board. Hope that helps!

Well, unfortunately, that is not what happens when I click Play on the first screen. Instead, it just gives me a message saying my rating needs to be in the selected range.

I've passed on posting about the Android app, because as soon as I do, Im certain some asshole will come along and start saying 'IT SUCKS' and crap like that. And, as a software developer myself, I know that kind of talk can be hurtful and unproductive.

But, while I am here now, I have to say I am very disappointed in some of the very odd shortcomings of the app.

First, there is the issue I posted this about.

There is also an issue with the app updating. For example, last week, it was telling me for 3 days it was my move on a game that had already ended. Just this morning, It said it was my move in a game yet, the position it showed was several moves behind the state of the game. This is really the most obvious and annoying issue.

For now, I have switched to the classic version.

I would like to suggest that you expand your QC testing to include more cases that involve the phone losing connections. This seems to be the catalyst for the issue above.

In regards to the second issue you were referring to, our team is working on resolving that right now. Hopefully the update will be pushed out soon.
