This is happening to me as well and it's a recent bug. Yes, this is chess not realizing they have a. It and simply being smug . Nonetheless it is true. It is not your connection it is the app which is having the problem

This is happening to many out there. YOU are not alone with this.
Even though this doesn't help you at all you could waste the time with other things like going fishing or hunting a deer. Up to you!
There is a bug in my site also, cannot do tactics, cannot do lessons, does not show my all my stats, cannot upgrade, difficult to play games, have to go through many steps to get a game, the site is not working right.
i got a warning for intentionally disconnecting. But i didnt if they reveiw the game. i was disconnected right when i trapped his queen. how to appeal the warning
I just lost 2 games in a winning position because of this!! My connection was great (4 bars) and then my opponents time elapsed. After which I was shown to have lost on time. UNFAIR!!

I regularily have a game that is completely blocked while my time runs out. This is getting worse by the day. It looks like server capacity that is not following.

So servers can never be the problem only the user? As a network/server admin for years I would have to disagree with this, there is definitely a chance it's a chess.com issue.
As unbelievable as this may sound...large networks that serve data around the world actually have issues too.
That's not what was said there. However, a lot of times disconnect issues are posted, the claim is that it's never the fault of anything but the server.

@GodsPawn2016 was being sarcastic. That said, the problem can be in a lot of different places, most out of the site's control.
There are steps that can be taken on the client side to minimize issues, but it won't solve everything.

Yes, there can be issues server side, but when they happen, they generally impact a larger number of people. The site tracks bigger batches of disconnects, and if it's determined it was a site issue, points are refunded for games lost by the problem.
