Is your ringer on?
No sounds on ipad

iPad Pro 9.7" with iOS 12.1.1 with latest Chess.com app: no sound from the app unless I use headphones. Neither the videos nor the game sounds work, although volume is up and the iPad is not muted. Sound in the rest of the apps work perfectly well.
Uninstalled and reinstalled but problem persists. Sounds are enabled in Settings.

If your iPad does not have a ringer switch, then check the silent mode setting in the control center. It should not have a bell with a line through it.

Thanks a lot. That fixed it.

I have the exact same problem, but with a game called Atlantic Fleet.

Brand new IPad Pro 5th Gen running Software Version 15.6.1. Same issue getting no sound. This is for everything Chess.com related. No sound when making moves during games. No sound for the lessons or videos. Nothing. My “Silent Mode” bell in the Conteol Center pull down does not have a red line through it. All notifications that I am aware of are Tue Ed on. This issue only occurs with the Chess.com app and nothing else.

You could try toggling the sound switch:
More > Settings > General > Sounds
If that doesn't help, then delete and reinstall the iOS app.
Using an older iPad, can't get sounds off the chess.com app. Sounds are enabled in general settings, volume is all the way up, other apps on my iPad work fine
The last mention of this problem was a year ago and it was never resolved. Any help would be greatly appreciated !
