Notifications very annoying, how can I disable them?

On Windows 10, the green YOUR MOVE is unrelenting!  If I have multiple chess.com tabs open, I may get several per minute.   No amount of pressing the little right-arrow will stop it from reappearing and ringing the bell.  It's like an early computer virus from a shopping site.

I've tried going into Settings / Notifications and unselecting "It's my move in a Daily Chess game" and pressing SAVE, then restarting everything, or even rebooting.  How can I remove it entirely?

How is that possible? You are only playing one game.

Scratch that.  After reboots (and turning off "It's my move in Daily Chess game", the notifications have stopped.   Reboot was the key.

FYI:  I do keep many chess.com tabs open.  Apparently part of the problem.

YOUR MOVE notifications are back.  Very embarrassing, they show up on any PC even after the game is gone, EVEN before I log onto the PC.

Do I need to reload my PC???  I don't see extensions or installs.  It's like malware.  How can I uninstall it?

Try clearing your browser cache.

You should be able to block these site notifications from within the browser's own settings. These are the rectangular popups which are displayed by the browser.

For Google Chrome for example, go to the following link:

chrome://settings/content/notifications

Then you can block the browser notifications from chess.com.

Thanks, I just set it for Chrome - hope it works!

I wish Chess.com had a setting that prevented it on all PCs and Laptops.  Strangely; they come thru even before signing into my userID, although the laptop's probably just asleep.  Plus; if I finished a game on some other device, it cycles thru a message for EVERY MOVE on all other laptops.

I find this to be a chess.com bug.  I NEVER would have said YES to this.  It's almost grounds to find an alternate chess playing program since it could potentially get me in trouble at work.

How do I turn on/off emails and mobile notifications?

To change your notification settings, click on the settings gear icon on the bottom left of any page on Chess.com, and then select 'notifications'. Or, click here!: https://www.chess.com/settings/notifications

Here you will have the option to enable or disable all kinds of notifications.

At the top of the page you can enable following of forum topics, and decide where you want email notifications sent to:

file-oNGu223fuR.pngClick 'change' to change the email address that your email notifications are sent to.

Check or uncheck the boxes to decide what kind of notifications you want:

file-0Vlk5MaS1q.pngYou can have notifications sent to your Mobile, Email, Web, or all, or none by checking and unchecking boxes!

When you're all ready, don't forget to click 'save'!

NOTE: Notifications related to club activity must be customized separately in the settings for each of your clubs.

The most annoying thing to me are 3 things: 1) Failure of Congress to have sensible gun control laws, 2) People who complain about what started this thread in the first place and 3) Being accused of cheating after playing a game with no errors.

They need a setting to stop showing the pop-up to turn on notifications. Apparently it doesn't self-learn after being told "no" about 1,000 times.
