In version 2, there is a hide/show online status setting. I have noticed (from a friend's status), that his online status doesn't show when he's using version 3 and neither he nor I can find a way to change it. I personally find it useful in determining which online games to look at anticipating that an online opponent's move could be on the way. Hope it isn't just gone in version 3.
