Hello!

I played this live chess game with standard 15 min time. My opponent took a small lead on me, until I trapped his queen and things would surely change. But then he just let his time run out, from 12 min. No notification came about who won it, but I could see later It was registered a loss for me! That is so sick! Could everybody just let their time run out and win!?? Just like that!?? That is so WRONG!

I want some frikkin answer to this please!

strictly

I just got the same thing.....

This new version is PANTS !!!!!!!

I do not think I got disconnected, because it happened as soon as his queen got trapped. It looked really fishy.

ixi0n - can you be more specific about this? how did you know the game was over? did you leave the game after you played it? did you close your browser? i need to know more exact specifics about the situation if you can. this is a highly unusual bug and i appreciate your help.

live chess is new - please everyone, be patient for a few days - we're getting everything ironed out!

erik

which game is this - this one? http://www.chess.com/livechess/game.html?id=174340

is it possible you closed your browser before the game actually ended?

ixi0n

still sounds like a disconnect...the fact that his queen was trapped is probably a coincidence.

also there's an (already reported) live chess bug where you don't see the other players move and your clock runs out thinking it's not your turn.

Okey, So lets say it was a disconnect then, I guess the winner who had the lead then wins the game? That sounds fair then.

Im quite new to chess.com, started to play today. So I am wondering what REALLY happens when somebody goes out of time with the lead? Somebody know this?

Yes that is the game. I did not close the browser, I was waiting and waiting for him to do a move.

erik

so if you both disconnect and stay offline, then the game should abort. but if both disconnect and only one person comes back, then the person who returns will win (if the other doesn't). so did you also disconnect on purpose? (close window??)

Well, hes clock went to zero and after awhile I closed the browser or went somewhere else on the site.

Maybe I am overreacting guys, maybe it was a kind of disconnection after all. But It looked so sick fishy when I trapped his queen and he did not do a move. I just went mad when I saw I had lost the game in the statitics later.

erik

so you waited for 12 minutes while his clock went to zero and then left?

LOL...amazing what qualifies as sick now...a loss in an onlince chess game.

"so sick fishy when I trapped his queen and he did not do a move"

You may have trapped his Queen, but he was already in front on material, and he'll get a Rook and Minor piece more. I think White has a very reasonable game.

Eventually yes I did. No notification about who won the game came either when it went to zero, so i guess somebody or something was disconnected.

I am sorry to have ppl a bit upset about this. But please understand how It looked like to me when I felt I had him, because I had his queen locked to die. I was sure I was going to win. Tongue out

erik

you were still probably going to lose. but this is a bug. if his time hit zero, game should have ended.

btw, my last move dont show on the replay, but it is me moving the bishop right left to my king. And his queen get doomed! Or let me say it like this; so sick pwned! Laughing

erik

yeah, but he's going to get 2 pieces and a rook for it (pxn, Bg7, QxR, BxQ, pxB)...

Yes, I feel a bit embarrased about this now. It should have ended yes. I started playing on chess.com today. Sry that I misunderstood what really happened here. Btw this site rules. Having a lot of fun playing chess in the live chess section. Smile

No Tongue out It is my turn next so: Bg7. His best move then would probably taking my Rook with Qxh8, Bxh8, dxe4.. okey so he gets a Rook and Knight in return for the Queen. well yes it is close game, hehe.
