password recovery

so i forgot my password, and i need to reinstall the app, so i tried to send myself a password recovery email. it seems the email did not go through. i checked all my folders, everything. anyone have an idea of what that might be?

Didn't u read what he wrote? He wants to re-install the app, but he needs to log out before doing that.

Go into settings and check what email your account is connected to. Check here: https://www.chess.com/settings
It's the 4th line down, under "last name" it'll tell you what current email your account is connected to. If it's connected to an email you have no access to send a report ticket to staff for help immediately here: https://support.chess.com/article/346-contact-us
Click the big orange box saying "Contact us" and a little box will pop up. Change the category to "my account" and start filling out your info including what email you want them to respond to, then start typing out your issue for them.

yeah, basically, i can't type anything when I'm using chess.com. i am currently typing this is in the Google search box, which i will copy all of it when I'm done and paste it into this forum. i asked some people, and they told me that the only way to fix this is to uninstall the app and then reinstall it. the problem is that I don't know my password, and that's why i want to recover it
