Pieces move very slow on the client side

Repost - since I didn't get a solution:

When I move a piece (by dragging), the animation for the piece move takes much longer (0.5-1 sec) than my mouse events. I don't know the cause of the delay but it severely impacts my move time. I have a fast CPU/GPU and use Google Chrome browser or Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 with the same problems.

My animation type is set to none, the default option has the same effect.

It that cause by a virus scanner or something alike?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

That is about disconnects and lag in general but some of the information in there might be useful in solving other slowness issues.

Old post, but it is caused typically from your web browsers "Hardware Acceleration" being turned off.
