Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry you had to wait! Our fair play policy does automatically restrict players who stall as well. I will pass your suggestion along to the team for review.
Players not making a move

What if I have to think for 2 minutes? Adding a 2 minute/move deadline on all games is a bit extreme, no? I think opening multiple games up to everyone is a much better option.

I Totaly agree condude2...I can't blame chess.com for charging for multi games they deserve the revenue...perhaps a longer time period or allowing max of 2 games when first game opponent hasn't moved in 3-4 minutes...

Here is an example from a higher level player who did this. They got a violation but did not drop thier rating much (whic is why they do it)
game 575100100

The rating change is the same however you lose.

5 minutes would be okay. Right in the moment I'm playing a game against an Indian guy, who hasn't moved in the last 20 minutes. I still got another 8 to wait, just because he stopped in move 6

hi, I´m a newcomer here at chess.com , I have played several 45min games. It´s fun and interesting much better than the online option I think. So far so good. But at the moment I wait for my counterpart to make his first move, I have started with white. Now his clock shows 26 min left. I have no idea what to do right now. Can anyone give any advice ? please.

ok, I got a reaction from the admin : runnerking hat möglicherweise gegen unsere Fair-Play-Richtlinien verstoßen - das wurde vermerkt und kann Einschränkungen seines Accounts zur Folge haben. That means, maybe there was a fair play violation, eventually the other player will get a penalty. That doesn´t sound very straight. Because the waiting player is in a more than stupid situation.
To be honest, I didn´t search the forum yet for more information about this, Is that more or less common practice around here ?

What about, after a player has been inactive, or has not made a move, for a period of time (maybe 5 minutes), they have to press a button within 5 minutes or the game is declared lost on that player.

If the other player needed to go to the rest room? It often happens in real OTB games.
this guy stalls, looks like this is common practice( just look at his profile and complaints about him): http://www.chess.com/members/notes/olsnoop09
maybe there should be a function to mark such a player

It happend again. How many of those silly persons ( or mentally limited ) do we have here ? I can´t see the benefit if I start a game and stop moving. Anyway the admin from chess.com should come forward with some improvement refering this problem. They should know best what to do.

one more time, a player not making amove. the only person or deparment who can do anything is someone from admin. There actions are very harmless as far as I found out. Is there a possibility to discuss wioth anyone from admin ??? like in other forums ???
My account is basci and when a player is usually losing they will just not move. I wouldn't care if I could play another game. But with my basic account I have to wait for the time to run down to 0. Can Chess.com add a time clock; A 2 minute move clock if someone doesn't move the game is lost. similar to when a player leaves the game.
