How can I play against another person (live across the board) and have CHESS.COM record the game for future analysis

You can't. Or, you can have a computer up, transcribe the game into an analysis board, run the analysis there, then copy if off and save it somewhere. Or do that all after the game by using a score sheet as suggested by kaynight.

The game  goes into  your Archive for future reference.

Or.....click "play" at the top of your home page...then click on computer..... then  click set up position and away you go

Playing human beings is possible on Chess.com. Quite a few other player are driven by a chess-program but most are real. Playing against such human beings in the sand pit and sending the moves to chess.com is not working.

You have to find the human being here on chess.com

If you mean that you and your opponent are in the same room together, use this board to play the game:

Then click on the Download Icon (or Copy PGN in v2) to get to the PGN.
