Pasting the embed code has stopped working.
Posting Videos

Existing posts containing video still work though e.g. how-do-you-post-a-youtube-video-on-a-message-or-a-forum

Problem solved by electricpawn:
When you click EMBED, there is a checkbox for 'Use Old Embed Code', got to check that ;)

OK, this is about the only place where I can think to post my situation.
I am pretty technical, and for the life of me, I can NOT post videos in the forums. I can post videos fine on all my stuff (home page, blog, etc.), but not in ANY of the forums.
I do NOT believe it is a browser issue, because I have the same problem in Mozilla Firefox, and I am using the latest version of it. I am using IE7 (not IE8, IE9, or IE10), but don't believe this is an issue either, as I can still post videos in my personal stuff (as mentioned earlier).
I am a Gold member (no pun intended), and am an Admin in several of the groups I've tried posting videos to. Still, I am getting nowhere.
I copy the Embed code from youtube, checking the 'Use Old Embed Code' box, and no matter how I tweak the code, or what special process I use...Zilch! Here's an example:
<object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object>
I copied this code directly from youtube, pasted it in here, and now you can see my frustration, as I get no video, but the code displays EXACTLY as it is on youtube.
Any ideas? Anyone...?

Do exactly what you are doing, and post.
You see what you see above.
Then click edit, you shouls now see a placeholder. Submit again.

OK, rooperi, I did what you said. However, I've been told those additional steps by my fellow compatriots in the Cosmic Debris group.
If you look at the results in my post above, you can see what happens, which is what always happens. I enter the Embed Code, hit Submit, then Edit, then Submit, and Voila! Nothin' but code. Actually, you saw the entire Embed code yesterday, and the results after the further Edit and Submit are showing today.
BTW, this happens on ANY computer I use. It doesn't matter if it's at home, a friends, at the bookstore, work, school, wherever. So, I don't think it's PC-related. I've checked every setting I can find on my account, so I'm not sure that's the issue either. I guess the next step is to talk with Tech Support here on the site.

Right. Here's the original Embed Code from youtube. This is what it looks like BEFORE I hit the Submit button.
<object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object>
Now, here's what the code looks like after I hit the Submit button AND the Edit button:
http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true">http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390">
And here's what it looks like after I Submit, then Edit, then Submit again (which is what you saw above, and the difference between yesterday and today):
http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390">

n/p. I'll try Tech Support. Thanks for at least taking the time to try and help. It is greatly appreciated.

It works fine for me (with just the last of these 4 ticked).
It could be a country-specific problem. Could someone else from the US try embedding that same video? (I'm using Chrome, BTW).
We had the same problem occurring before with someone from the US, where their browser was throwing away part of the embedded code. (Unfortunately, that thread www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/how-do-you-post-a-youtube-video-on-a-message-or-a-forum has disappeared.)

I know, artfizz, I can post any video w/o a problem on any of my personal pages, but can not get ANY video to post in ANY forum, no matter which browser or computer I use, whether or not I'm an Admin of a group, and I'm the same membership level as you.
Also, darn near anyone I know here state-side can posts videos fine, whether or not they're an Admin or a paying member. And most of them use Internet Explorer. I've had this problem since the day I joined, over 2 years ago. It hasn't really bothered me much, as I figured there's enough video posting by others to clog the servers.
I've sent the issue to Tech Support. It's absolutely baffling me, and it's starting to piss me off. I'm an IT pro, and I can solve ANY problem, but not this one! ARGH!
BTW, did you watch the video? The guy can play.

I watched it ... but I didn't listen to it. (My wife's on the blower.)

What happens if you take the first code you posted ...
< object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><paramname="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dz-J-Ppdbpo?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object>
Submit it. Re-edit AND PASTE BACK IN THE FULL TEXT BEFORE RESUBMITTING?

Art, post #11 in this thread shows what happens as I move through the Submit-Edit-Submit process. I've tried every trick I can think of.

I can follow that that's what happens if you don't manually edit the original code back in. I'm not clear whether you've tried re-instating the full embedded code BEFORE you press SUBMIT the second time?
It seems it's not possible anymore?
Is it broken, or was it a decision?
