Premoves broken for me

Hi,

My premoves seem to continue regardless of whether my opponent moves their piece out of the way of my capture. This means pre-move simply loses when there's a situation of 2+ options. Pre move is essential due to the nature of the app. Is this a setting that I need to change, as I believe it's meant to auto cancel if the move is no longer legal?

Premoves will always play unless the move itself isn't legal, for example, leaves or places your king in check.

Premoves are also just moves to squares and not taking into account captures. So, if you premove a capture and that piece moves, you still move your piece to that square.  That's the way premoves work, so you have to be extra careful.

Wait is that real? I swear I've seen premoves many times cancel from not taking. Ok thanks, that sort of ruins the game for me. I think I'm going to give up on chess.com between lag and things like this...

Yes, the only time a premove won't go through is if the piece moving to that square would be illegal.
