well you can mostly avoid a repetition and if it draws because of repetition then that means you made a mistake wich is fair.
question about repetition

Let's say that I will lose in a chess game, but I use the repetition rule to my advantage (or I'm simply trying to stall time since I have more time left) by giving my opponent checks and not letting anything else happen in the game, either he moves and I check again and again and again or he loses an important piece which will make me win. Am I allowed to do that? Because my opponent kept doing that in my latest game which in return made me draw because of repetition. It feels so unfair.
It's one of the rules of the game. It takes both players to repeat the position, so if you would lose to deviate, then repeating may be the best for both players.

if he allows it to happen, it's fair.
if you allow it to happen, he's cheating

in my case, the opponent, tried it, I allowed it to happen at first but before I could do something else that may have resulted into not a repetition, it was already too late

Zeer goede vraag, het is meestal een goede manier om een spel te tekenen als je verliest
ik eet je op

Sometimes it's hard to recognize the repetitions but once it's happened twice then it's up to the next player to decide to deviate if the other player steps into a position that make the third repetition of position possible.

If the bishop would be lost in the final repetition, it was also lost in the other positions as well if you didn't move as you did. Therefore, repetition seems like the best line for both players (without actually looking at the game).
