Create a Custom Challenge. If the range shows Any/Any does the same behavior happen?
Rating range preference in live settings

Yes, I get the same result. My "live" settings are any/any/any/any. (Incoming and outgoing). I selected "custom" for the time control of 10, 0. (That took me to a chess board with no opponent, and a 5 minute time. A bug? So I set up the custom challenge again, and it started waiting for an opponent.
This is what I saw while the program was waiting to pair me:
"You have issued a challenge. Waiting to find an opponent rated 1244-1269..."
After more thought: I think what the program should do or is is intended to do with my settings and time control is to pair me with an identical time preference player who is closest to my rating, within that person's rating preferences. Is that correct?
I've got my settings for live games rating preference set to "any" in each place.
But when I click on create game (for example, a 10 minute game) I get this:
"You have issued a challenge. Waiting to find an opponent rated 1256-1281..."
Using PC and Chrome browser.
Edit: On second thought, maybe this is the correct (desired) behavior. But it does seem to be a very small range. I waited it out, and it suggested I make a greater range one time. But hard to do that when it's already set to "any." What I mean is that I can understand auto-pairing against somebody with a rating close to mine, but maybe the program can widen the range if it doesn't find somebody right away. Follow me?
