*You can, but it's not automatic."
Which is ridiculous considering how easy it would be to save these games on device at least. Problem is halfway through an analysis I hit the wrong button and boom, gone forever.

Yeah, I have wondered this, too. Why aren't games against bots saved automatically? I have found that I can only save games against bots if I play on my laptop, *AND* if I *immediately* click on "Save game" near the lower right of my screen. If I do any sort of analysis or game review before clicking on "Save game," the option never appears again, and the game will not ever be in my archive. (I can download it as a PGN, and then upload it somewhere else, but why not just have it go to my archive automatically?) And the option to save the game is not available at all if I play on my iPad. I like to play against the bots because it's less stressful (no ego involved), and there's no time control, and I can kinda chart my progress, in a "climbing the ratings ladder" sort of way, by playing harder and harder bots.

That's a really badddd problem of chess.com. You can't access to the games which you have played them with engine. I lsot my analysised game with 1900 engine and now I can't access it anymore. Also today I wanted to make a puzzle from one of my games with engine, fortunetly I saved pgn, but chess.com app in phone doesn't have some options. Forexample I can't find that "flag" button to make a puzzle and share it. Also some other things which are hard to explain them. Please add the computer options to the android's app too. Some of them are deleted.
That's strange - maybe it changed lately. As I can remember if Review or Analysis buttons was used game was automatic saved. Only if didn't and did not saved manually then it was gone. Even remember problem (no to far in the past) when could not delete autosaved (by review) games. It was fixed later and at that moment for sure reviewing game autosaved it.
That was here. But maybe on mobile-app it's different, I don't know.

The review option to save is a website only feature.
On Android, you have to manually save. Also, I recently found out the ability to save the monthly bots was changed in the Android app (you can save but it doesn't actually do anything)
Then good you explained it for others , cause I can't tell anything about mobile apps. I am not using phone, only site. Now it should be all clear (I think).
I noticed that games versus the bots don't get saved to your archive. however on desktop there is a button at the bottom that allows you to manually add it to your archive:
As far as I can tell, this option does not exist in the iOS app.

It's currently only available on web and the Android app.
Though, they may start saving automatically in an upcoming update on all platforms.
This is seriously a joke. How do they not save games played against the bot?
You can, but it's not automatic.
