What interface do you usually use when play games on FICS?
Whatever that interface is, I'd like to think it has the option to save the games you play on FICS to your computer, in a PGN format, automatically. (WinBoard, for example has this option.)
Once they are saved on your computer, Scid can, of course, open and read those PGN files.
If the interface you use doesn't have the option to save the games you play automatically, I'd like to think you can at least save them manually, as soon as the game has finished.
Also, if I remember correctly, FICS (and ICC) used to have a mailstored toggle. If you turned this on (set the switch to 1) the server would then e-mail you each game you played. You would then, of course, have to save the game from your e-mail client to your hard drive.
WinBoard's feature of saving your games automatically to your hard drive is the best option. If the client you are using doesn't do this, that's just a case of programmer laziness.
scid vs mac and fics

If you use LightFICS ( FICS Mac app ) it supports exporting to PGN with File -> "Copy as PGN" (or just Cmd+C). Then you can paste it to Scid vs. Mac. I'm using it to actually import it to lichess for analysis.
Greetings
I am using scid vs mac and I play on fics. Is there a good way to import my fics games into scid vs mac? I can technically log onto fics through scid vs mac, but there is no sound and its oddly distracting...I don't like it.
Thanks
