Server Not Available

During the past 3 days I have not always been available to access chess.com

Sometimes when I try to log in, I get an error message stating that the server is not available. Then I try 30 minutes, or one or two hours later and I get in, but not always

I'm assuming that the server is overextended and when so many members try to access it, it is not always available.

Is there another explanation?

Which way exactly are you trying to enter live chess?

I have tried various ways: directly from an email from chess.com, by typing in "www.chess.com" into my browser, by Googling chess.com and clicking on the links that are given. In all cases I've had problems.

In all of these cases, there have been times when I was given the error message, "no access to server" and am wondering why. As you can see I have played quite a lot of chess games on your site since joining last month, so it's not that I don't know how to get on-line.

Does this have something to do with traffic on your server? Is there a waiting cue to get access? All the times I have not been able to get on chess.com, I have been on the Internet freely accessing all kinds of websites.

I have downloaded Java and that may make a difference. Thanks for your reply. I'll contact you again if I have problems.

I dropped the free avg and actually paid for norton finally, and it fixed that for me. :)

Since I last reported not being able to access the server I have to say that it happens just about every day, at least two or three times.

I get a message that the server is not available, and then I try 10 minutes later and I get to the site just fine. Then later in the day I might try to access the site again and the server is not available. So, now I never know if I can access the site when I am available.

With several million users I find it hard to believe that I am the only one who is experiencing this problem, and that you have never had this complaint from someone else.

Please tell me what's going on.

Once again today, I have been "unable to acces the server" and I still am looking for an answer. I have let my premium membership expire, partly because If I cannot have access to the site, then why would I pay for this service?

As I keep repeating this denial of access to the server happens every day, so I am still waiting for a reply.
