Solve Puzzles Computer opponent too fast now.

This started a few days ago on both my Android tablet and phone.  When playing Solve Puzzles the computer move after mine is almost immediate.  It used to have a natural second delay.  Just feels odd.  Liked it before.

I second this. Noticed it today. Very much not a fan, it just feels unnatural.

Same problem here, very annoying. I just don't want to play puzzles like this. Used to love play puzzles. Please fix this bug.

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. The response has a natural move time on my desktop but the app is almost immediate and it's very disorienting

Contenchess

Agreed.

JazzStone

I logged a bug issue for it.

Merci d'avance

Agreed, quite annoying and detrimental to puzzle experience!

I suggest everyone hear summits a bug report to draw the attention to the issue. It took the fun out of puzzles for me sad.png

Yes, I noticed this too. It's so fast that sometimes I don't realize they've moved because my finger is still in the way from moving my own piece. (Even with the volume turned up, the sounds are so close together that it seems like one sound.)

It's done. I sent a message to bug report thumbup.png

I submitted a bug report today - this instantaneous response is ridiculous.

I received a response on my bug report. They just suggest reinstalling the app. (I haven't tried it yet; my tablet it charging right now.)

Emileaedman

Reinstalling didn't change anything for me.

So I play on the Chrome browser with my smartphone or my tablet. This is the best solution at the moment.

La réinstallation n'a rien changé pour moi.

Du coup je joue sur le navigateur Chrome avec mon smartphone ou ma tablette. C'est la meilleure solution pour le moment.

Same here. I'm going to stick to my browser (PC) for now.

If anything, it's gotten *faster* since my bug report. Now it appears the opponent is moving *as* I move - the pieces are in motion at the same time.

I've also filed a bug report on this (pieces moving too quickly during puzzle-solving in the Android app). The person who responded to me began with "I haven't heard of any Bugs like this with the app." So it's clear that people who respond to our multiple bug reports aren't talking to each other or sharing information. They also shared a screenshot of the puzzle settings page (from the website, not the app), saying it might help, which it doesn't.

In the second email, they suggested I log into my desktop and submit a separate bug report with video, so I had to explain to them that my desktop can't record a video of what's happening in the app.

But seriously, the last few times I tried to do puzzles in the Android app, the opponent's piece reached its square before mine had finished moving. So I've basically quit trying to solve puzzles.

Update: I tried another puzzle, and this is still happening. Also, my bug-report correspondent hasn't replied back since my last email mentioned above (when I explained that there's no function on my PC that can record what happens in the Android app).

For what it's worth, I tried another chess puzzle app (called Chess Coach Free or something)  and it also responded instantaneously, so I uninstalled it.

Chan_Fry

Anderson: I quit using that Chess Coach app for the same reason. Sigh.

I have only been using my browser for puzzles since this bug showed up - sorry to hear it's still happening.

AndersonConnors

I'm going to do them on my browser from now on -- I only get three puzzles a day; how hard could it be? :-)
