When I go to open the last analysis I saved I get the "Oh No! Server Error". What this means is that I can't make a new analysis and save it. What would be the point if I can't open it after it's saved?

This is a feature I use a lot. Currently it appears that I can't use it anymore, and I consider this to be a real loss. Could you look into it please?

Chess.Com game end result error.

About 8 minutes before the end of the game, the player asked for a draw. I never answered the draw request and left it open because in the past on several occasions, I declined the request which immediately ended the game as an abort I suspect there is a way that the opponents are using some cheating method to trigger the aborts. This issue I will address at another time.

The issue that I would like to address is the end result of the game. I did take multiple screen shots of the game because I was concerned another abort would be initiated somehow by the opponent.

The end of the result is that I had more than 7 minutes left in the game, and the opponent had more than 2 minutes in the game at which time something very unusual happened.

The player was letting the clock run down from more than 10 minutes left on the clock to about 2 1/2 minutes left…. Then moved. Immediately after the move the game ended.

The result was —— >>>>> “Draw by time out insufficient material” <<<<<< ———

How can this be a valid result when I have two queens, the opponent only has the King, I have 7 plus minutes left on the game, and the opponent has 2 plus minutes left on the game?

Please review the game!

It appears that you likely got disconnected. Currently, the disconnect code does not look to see whose turn it is and it is possible to lose by abandonment when it's not your turn. In this particular case, your opponent doesn't have sufficient material to win, so the result is a draw.

The site doesn't have a game termination type that matches, so uses the insufficient material to win on time one in such cases. My understanding is that behavior is going to change at some point, so it won't be possible to lose by disconnection if it's not your turn.

So what I finally did was delete the analysis that wouldn't open, started another one and that one I can open. There was something wrong with that particular one then. Looks like I'm back in business.

Hi, is there a choice to play a 1 hour game! I am 78 years old and find it hard to play the 30 minutes game. I just run out of time and lose.

Yes. before you click Play, you can change the game length. 60 minutes is one of the choices after you click "More Time Controls." (You may have to wait a while to find a game and you may find that allowing a broader range of ratings helps to reduce the time you have to wait.)

This is not an open support thread. ( There are no open support threads.)

If you have a problem, searching for a similar thread is often the quickest way to get help.

Over the last 17 years, many folks have probably asked the exact same question.

If you search and can't find one, then start your own thread and put key words in the topic line. (60 minutes, Server error on reopening saved game, etc.)
