Time rules?

were you playing a game with a '/' in it like 5/5?
If so, the game is 5 minutes but you get 5 seconds per move. If you make a move in less than the time allotted per move, that time is added to your clock.
If not and you were just playing a 10 minute or 5 minute game, I have no idea.

Based on deciphering your message, I can say that premium accounts do NOT have an advantage in live games.

The time controls for chess games apply equally to all players.
Most commonly, the only way that your time may increase during a game is if there is an increment in which time is added after each move such as with a 3|2 blitz game. In that case, 2 seconds are added after each move.
Otherwise, the appearance of gaining time might also happen when one or both of the players are experiencing great lag. If, for example, you've made a move and your opponents clock on your screen appears to be running, it's possible that the move is not delivered to him right away, and so his own clock display is actually not running yet but shows that yours is! As connections catch up, this will be corrected for (for both players) and so the appearance of gaining time.
