Timer cheat ?

Hey guys,

just played a 3 min game with a user named Kidq***** and I had more time than he did, but his timer when it hit zero, instead of saying that I won and that he ran out of time, it kept relooping to an extra 1 second every time on his turn till I ran out of time and he won. How is that possible? I have been playing for years and I have had all sorts of lags and disconnections. Never like this one. Makes me think it just be some kind of hack or cheat ?

happens lots of time

petya888

and the happy part when you have excellent network and you say hay your time does not go and they say WTF that's they called hard luck

Look at the game in your archive on the website. All the official move timestamps are there and will show what the server times actually were.

Sometimes the client will not update correctly and many times, when it is, what you are experiencing is lag compensation/correction.

is an unfair cheater and uses Engine in a corresponding "Online Chess".

How should it be reported and who will help to stop this guy?

Chess.com takes cheating very seriously:

Neither did your opponent cheat nor did the timer cheat you.

Also did the timer only what he/she/it is programmed, not more, not less.

These are unsustainable accusations against a friendly player.

Thumbs down.

I have observed in many games that, when I had enough time and my opponent didn't have to make another move his timer got increased every move by 10 sec and mine got deducted by the same and I lost a winning game. This is something that has to be taken in serious consideration by chess.com and prevent this kind of unfair thing happening to players.

chechac

yes it happens and more than one time

twalker83

Yes this happens constantly. Very frustrating.

okay, it happens a lot but is chess.com doing anything about it? was watching the timer - i had more than 10 second, and my opponent had less than 2 seconds, but somehow, his timer looped to add more time, and i ended up losing by as much as 3 seconds. thought it was my computer; rebooted, and it happened again;

Clock chanhes are either the results of increments, lag compensation, or connection issues and potential disconnects. Your opponents can't impact the clocks.

Same happened to me i was clearly winning now and had made my move then 5 second later the game was aborted and it says it left the game

Either my oponent is a cheater and his name has to be make public or the system cheated me

Clearly i need the pionts back and need the points for the win

If not this site is clearly unfair has hell

It has nothing to do with your opponent. Your opponent made the last move and you were apparently not connected to the live server process.

https://support.chess.com/article/213-how-do-i-fix-my-disconnect-lag-issues

The clients never directly connect, so your opponents can't cause connection issues for you

It was 10 seconds

You cannot tell me after 10 seconds that i is an automatcly loss I had internet

If it is then the site cause me to not win the game. Is this fair? NO

So i have the right to get my points back and get the winning points

If not as i bet the site is unfair if not cheating the players.

You can contact support, but you were likely disconnected prior to your opponent's move, which could have been any time after you made your last one. The abandonment timer can start when it's not your move.

And secondl it was hi last game

So supucios . And every system can be hacked

If someone hacked the live server process, they'd be doing more than disconnecting a few opponents in blitz meh

You know, i have encountered people who add increment onto the time (the time increases) and I almost ragequit at chess. Luckily I sent an abuse report and a few days later chess com responded to it.

yeah i think something like this happened to me too, but it was when the dude had like 12 secondes left so its like whats the point

Your opponent can't impact your connection or clocks. If you saw time increase it was either increments, lag compensation, or disconnects.

I was playing chess. I had 1min, and it was the other player's turn and Suddenly, my timer started again even tho it was his turn, and it wouldn't let me move, and it wouldn't stop till I had only 5 sec left then his timer started again
