today's situation?

Hello 

I have a school-project about chess. I have to write about how today’s situation is when it comes to chess? Is there anyone who has a good answer on this question? 

You can write about the clash of youngsters with the old guns like Kramnik, Anand, Ivanchuk, you can describe the slow dissolving of Russian dominance, or talk about the current candidates cylce finally reaching some decency after all those pathetic years of confusion, disorder and unfairness. You can talk about how computers have gotten so strong that human-computer clashes have become a thing of the past, or how computers affect openings, ratings, the decrease in the ages of the GMs etc.
