You should be able to turn off sounds by going here - http://www.chess.com/home/livechess_settings and disabling 'sound.'
I want to turn off the sounds in Live Chess. I cannot do this. Unchecking "Enable Sounds" in the settings tab has no effect. WTF chess.com? Work with me here...
