Unauthorized charges from chess.com

Chess.com billed my credit card without my authorization, does not respond, and all I get is some kickback from "nobody@earthlink.net'' I thought this was a legitimate site??? I'm left having to go to my bank to try and get the charge removed, and filing complaints with the BBB and whoever else.

Rsava

What charges are they? How much.

You are a Diamond member, did you not sign up for Diamond Membership?

Did you try the free trial and forget to cancel it?

JSlavik

I remember seeing another topic like this too. Hopefully everything gets cleared up and everyone gets their money back in a timely manner.

Don't listen to this IDTENT BradStone19.

He hasn't been here long enough to know anything.

If it was in error, chess.com will fix it. You need to go here:

I have tried that multiple times, Rsava and no response.

DrSpudnik

There's a whole bunch of these threads, because they're the same people under different names ginning up bogus controversy.

Pre_VizsIa

Could be, could be!

unclemike2

I don't know about a whole bunch of these threads. I know I currently am contesting an unauthorized charge on my credit card from chess.com and I can't get any response from them.

DrSpudnik

So far the OP hasn't backed up anything and neither have you in your craptastic thread.

DrSpudnik

Why should someone have to back up anything? Why not just make claims and charges and get everyone into a snit? Why not make even more outlandish charges and not back it up? Why not start a blog and make accusations that are all made up? Why limit yourself?

DrSpudnik

I'm not personally offended. In fact, I'm dropping this now. You can keep asking rhetorical questions into the void if you want.

jaclyn

@unclemike2- I've sent you a message so we can get this issue worked out. I'm really sorry for the trouble!

unclemike2

Thank you, Jac1yn,

I received notification that the charge would be removed, but as yet that hasn't happened. I assume the refund has to work its way through the system. I'll let you know if it does not.

The refund was done on January 6th, it can take between 7-10 working days to show on your card depending on how quick your bank processes it.

Bogus controversy huh? Well now we have proof that this thread at least is about an actual issue.

Not really since apparently this thread was started the very same day the issue had been sorted/resolved by staff.

Unnecessary to start forum topic.

goldendog

making a mountain out of a molehill is what these threads typically shake out to.

TheGrobe

Recently, a number of these threads appear to have fabricated the molehill as well.

Well the OP didn't know they resolved the issue on the same day. Since it takes upto 10 days to get back the payment, how would he know? He's just being cautious and I'm with him...

Let me try and steer this in the right direction;  chess.com an credit your account immediately with the click of a button. However, it takes YOUR bank,(all banks), 10-12 BUSINESS days, for you to see the results!
