Well, a ten minute game means that you have ten minutes for YOU to move.

For a 15|10 game, initially you will have fifteen minutes and you will get an extra 10 seconds when you move.

These are live chess.

For online chess, it is a turn-based game. You can have as less as one day to as much as 10 days to make your move.

Since you are a beginner here,I would advise you to play a 30 min game first

Hi just so I know the first number is the how long the game will last the second number is the amount of extra time you get once you have moved a piece. Does this second number run down to zero if it gets to zero any move you make will not score any additional seconds to your time. the second number restarts counting down on your next move and so on and so on thereafter. If no move is made within 2mins the game is forfieted and the opponent wins! Is there any protection from the use of bots or computer assisted play ie cheats! and What happens if someone cheated in a cash prize online tourney! They would have to give the money back! surely...This does worry me as how would I know if a person is cheating my previous experiences sofar have been 1) unable to mak a move and the clock runs out of time! 2) the clock speeds up countsdown faster! 3) My oppenent suddenly gets an increase in time whereby there surely going to lose on time then their remaining time jumps from say 1min left to having 10mins left for example :( I was accused of cheating in a game but my opponent did not understand the rule of en passant move so I explained to them why they could not take my piece the my pawn had already moved one square! To do the en passant I must be on the fifth. they must in one move move a pawn from its legal staring position advance two squares to be adjacent to my pawn for me to be able to excute the en passant manouvre i move my pawn immediately behind their pawn that is immediately to the right or left of me and take there pawn claiming 'en passant' the reverse is also true if they were on my fifth and i advanced a pawn by two squares in a single move adjacent to their pawn from my pawns legal starting position. I do like Chess.com long may it continue
